The Association, founded by African American attorneys with the intent to advance the professional goals of the Association’s members, promote equal rights for all and build a more just and inclusive society, is a Bar Association open to all attorneys regardless of race, religion, or gender. The Association is dedicated to promoting the common business interests and improve business conditions in the legal profession by:
(1) Promoting the mutual interest and welfare of the Association’s members.
(2) Creating among the general public a high regard and respect for the legal profession.
(3) Encouraging a high standard of preparation for those seeking to enter the legal profession.
(4) Aiding in the establishment of a uniform and impartial administration of the law of the land.
(5) Improving the opportunities for success for the Association’s members in the practice of law.
(6) Securing for the Association’s members and their clients due justice and equality before the law.
(7) Cementing a closer bond of fellowship among the Association’s members.
